A Play-Centered Summer Experience for Kindergarten–5th Grade

🕘 Camp Hours: Monday – Thursday | 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM

🌱 Our Mission  At Theory of Play, summer camp is where curiosity leads, creativity blooms, and children truly thrive. We create a safe, inspiring, and enriching environment rooted in meaningful, self-directed play—bridging imagination, education, and joyful discovery.  Our thoughtfully designed experiences celebrate each child’s individuality while fostering confidence, connection, and a strong sense of belonging. Every day supports social, emotional, and cognitive growth—making summer learning both fun and deeply impactful.

🎨 Summer Explorations Art History: Celebrating the Masters
Campers step into the world of famous artists and iconic masterpieces. Through hands-on projects using a variety of art media, children explore creative techniques, strengthen fine-motor skills, and learn the stories behind the art—building confidence and artistic expression one masterpiece at a time.
Exploring the Wonders of Science  Young scientists dive into exciting, hands-on exploration through experiments, investigations, and problem-solving challenges. Campers develop curiosity, critical thinking, perseverance, and a true scientist’s mindset while discovering how science connects to the world around them.

World Explorations: Discovering Cultures & Communities  Campers travel the globe through stories, music, art, and interactive projects—learning about different countries, traditions, and ways of life. These experiences nurture empathy, cultural awareness, and a deeper appreciation for our beautifully connected world.

🌟 Character Development & Life Skills
Character education is thoughtfully woven into every summer camp experience. Through play, reflection, and guided activities, children build emotional intelligence, confidence, and positive social skills in age-appropriate ways.  Focus areas include:
• Kindness, respect, and cooperation
• Emotional awareness and coping skills
• Responsibility and integrity
• Problem-solving and conflict resolution
• Empathy, teamwork, and good citizenship  Older campers explore these skills with greater depth and real-world application—developing resilience and a strong growth mindset.

🎲 What Campers Will Enjoy
• Open-ended play supported by attentive, caring educators
• Dedicated character development and life skills experiences
• Enriching clubs such as Lego Club, Directed Drawing, Art Club, and Board Games with Buddies
• Optional hands-on hydroponic gardening, connecting science, responsibility, and environmental awareness  Play leads the way, while educators gently guide discovery and reinforce positive values in meaningful, age-appropriate ways.

🌍 In-House Field Trips & Community Celebrations  Summer at Theory of Play is full of connection and excitement. Campers enjoy special in-house field trips such as fire safety visits, local authors, and community helpers, along with joyful on-site celebrations that strengthen friendships and build lasting memories.

Business Review

We love Theory of Play! They provide a safe and welcoming area with different themed rooms for the kids to play in, and its screen free! My homeschool student loves the hangout days to have free play time with his friends, and gets to participate in meaningful art, science, and history lessons through the homeschool co op group. TOP even provides a relaxing space for the parents to relax or work in. Thank you Theory of Play for being the go-to spot for kids and grown ups! Olivia L

This is literally our FAVORITE place!!! Ms. Ashley and her crew are spectacular- they show such love and care for each kid that shows up to play. This is the place that fosters true community and it’s just the best. We do know families here that like to come play after school or on Saturday but the magic of TOP is that it’s a Homeschool Haven. We enjoy every minute here, my kids beg to be the first ones to arrive every afternoon. I’ve had such a great time meeting other parents too and have time to relax in the parent spaces! Theory of Play is truly one of its kind. Do not hesitate to stop in. I promise, it’s is absolutely worth the drive from anywhere. Colwell Family
